API Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By accessing the Leuks API, you agree to these API Terms of Service as well as our general Terms of Service, Model Usage Policy, and Content Policy. If you are accessing the API on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. API Access & Keys
API access requires registration and the generation of an API key. You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential. Do not share your API key publicly or embed it in client-side code. If you believe your key has been compromised, revoke it immediately in your dashboard and generate a new one.
We reserve the right to revoke API access at any time if we detect misuse, policy violations, or security concerns.
3. Rate Limits
API requests are subject to rate limits based on your plan tier (tokens per minute, requests per minute, and daily caps). Rate limits protect system reliability for all users. When you exceed a limit, you will receive a 429 Too Many Requests response. Persistent circumvention of rate limits is a policy violation and may result in account suspension.
4. Data Handling
Enterprise Privacy
API requests and responses from enterprise-tier customers are processed with enhanced privacy protections. Enterprise customer data is logically isolated and not used to train or fine-tune shared models without explicit written consent.
Prompt Logging
By default, API inputs and outputs may be logged for a limited period for abuse detection, safety monitoring, and service improvement. You may request reduced logging for your account; see our opt-out mechanisms below.
Opt-Out Mechanisms
Enterprise customers may opt out of prompt logging for training purposes by enabling the data-opt-out flag in your API settings or by contacting your account manager. Opt-out does not affect safety monitoring logs, which are retained for a defined period for security and compliance purposes.
Data Retention
Standard API logs are retained for 30 days. Safety monitoring logs are retained for 90 days. Enterprise customers may negotiate custom retention terms in their service agreements.
5. Permitted Use
You may use the API to build products, services, and automations that comply with our Model Usage Policy and Content Policy. You may access the API for commercial purposes under your applicable subscription plan.
6. Prohibited Use
You may not use the API to:
- Reverse-engineer model weights or architecture
- Extract training data through systematic querying
- Resell raw API access to third parties without a reseller agreement
- Build competitive model training pipelines using API outputs
- Circumvent safety systems, rate limits, or access controls
- Violate any provisions of the Model Usage Policy or Content Policy
7. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of your inputs. Outputs generated by the API are assigned to you to the extent permissible by law, subject to the limitations described in our Terms of Service. Inferent retains all rights to the underlying models, infrastructure, and API.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate API access at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for non-emergency terminations. Upon termination, your API keys are revoked and access ceases immediately.
9. Service Levels
We target high availability for our API infrastructure, but we do not guarantee uptime for free-tier users. Enterprise agreements include specific SLA commitments and support response times negotiated in the service contract. Status updates are available at our status page.
